Number Five Goldsmiths was founded on a simple but powerful belief: beautiful jewellery should be created by hand, with intention and soul.
Located in the heart of Perth High Street, our gallery brings together some of the finest contemporary jewellers from Scotland, the UK and across Europe. Every piece we showcase is chosen for its individuality, craftsmanship and authenticity - a refreshing alternative to mass-produced jewellery found elsewhere.

Stuart & CLAIRE - Owners & Curators

Stuart and Claire are the heart of Number Five. With years of experience and an instinctive understanding of good design, they personally curate every piece in the gallery.
Their commitment to authenticity leads them across Scotland, the UK, and Europe — including regular sourcing trips to Germany — to meet artists, discover new makers, and select jewellery that reflects individuality, skill, and character. Their passion ensures that the pieces you find in our Perth showroom cannot be found anywhere else.

Claire Donald - Resident Goldsmith & Bespoke Designer

Claire began her journey at sixteen, leaving school to serve her apprenticeship in one of Scotland’s most respected and creative workshops. From there, her learning continued in Paris, Edinburgh and London, refining her skills and broadening her design perspective before she and Stuart spent several years living abroad.

That path of dedication, experience and exploration has shaped the work she creates today at Number Five on Perth High Street. Every piece Claire makes is approached with thought, care and intention. There is no sense of production or repetition — each commission is considered individually, crafted entirely by hand at the bench. She works closely with clients in Perth and beyond, transforming ideas, stories and memories into jewellery designed to be treasured for generations.

In a rapidly changing jewellery industry, where computer-generated design and large-scale production are becoming more common, Claire remains committed to traditional hand-making techniques. There is honesty in the mark of the maker, in the weight of hand-forged metal, and in the subtle variations that ensure no two pieces are ever exactly the same. It is this authenticity that defines her work.

We are also fortunate to work alongside Fay, a master craftswoman whose skill and experience support both the gallery and workshop, bringing another pair of talented hands and creative influence into the Number Five story.

Together, we curate an inspiring collection of contemporary jewellery, handcrafted by makers who share our passion for individuality and quality — from anodised aluminium and titanium to silver and the rich warmth of gold. Every piece is chosen with care.
